I heard Jebediah cover It's Raining Men on MMM earlier tonight which I assume was a Musical Challenge ala Genie In A Bottle. It got me thinking about covers, in the spirit of the Harpoon-Clint experiment (which I LOVED - love both versions of both songs) what songs would you like to see SFK cover and what SFK songs would be done well by other bands? I'll get the ball rolling in the spirit of my Eddie Vedder post. As much as I'd love to hear SFK Spin The Black Circle, I think they'd do great versions of Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town off Versus and Paul would do a nice acoustic solo of Light Years off Binaural. And Pearl Jam would be good at Prick and Easy. And for a foolish one... How about Paul belting out "They call me Mr Boombastic" and Shaggy following up with a bit of Dean Martin.

'Corduroy' would be cool. How about a solo 'Off he goes' (still talking about Pearl Jam) I could see Paul belting out a few old Crowded House classics - 'Private Universe', 'Fall at your feet' How about Smashing Pumpkins - 'In the Arms of Sleep', 'To Shelia' I think they could do a great version of just about anything by REM (and have) I cannot get a picture of Paul doing Shaggy, not at all. Nice one BJ How about some Primus - maybe 'Wynona' or 'Kalamazoo' ;D

Corduroy is awesome. I reckon that would go down a treat. The other Pearl Jam songs I thought of were Rearviewmirror and Present Tense. The Pearl Jam song I don't think would be as good would be Bugs.
Maybe a bit of Nelly Furtado's Turn Off The Light. ;D

Ahh . .more pop songs for SFK
I reckon i reckon i reckon, that SFK should do Either a SNout cover (pop writer), a millencolin cover (Monkey Boogie) and a Superchunk cover (Hyper enough). . . ..
all these for different reasons, particularly the millencolin cover, to see how paul would deal with a Ska-type of punk song . .. .
yeah\ haha pop song covers . .yeah . ..

I'd like to see SFK covering some Nirvana songs, I think that Kurt and Paul kind of have similar vocals. Songs I'd like to hear would be Heart Shaped Box, Rape Me, Lithium

ahh .. someone mentioned Australian Power Punk Living legeneds and kings - BODYJAR!! oh yea!!
i was always wondering how punk bands, or even a heavy rock band (a la Henry's ANger, or even Another Race) would go about covering sfk songs. . . bodyjar doing electricity. ??. . well .. . alot of earlier SFK songs have punk-esque drum and guitar riffs (ala glue). . . .so, .. there might be a sign of other music influences in their music .. .
I would love to see Blueline Medic do a sfk b-side cover . .like belief= function . .or better yet. . .when caustic soda were around play prick or working against me. . .very punk-esque. . youngkid disknowledge-ey
yeha . . . how would a punk band do "Captain"??. . or how would SFK do a bodyjar song. . maybe "glossy books" ??
hmm. . .

SFK would do Fall to the Ground well I think.
Here's an amusing thought. Bevan the Musical by SFK.
